ADMISSION FORMS FOR 2008-9 ACADEMIC YEAR ON SALE
Admission application forms for the 2008-2009 academic year are now on sale. A set of forms, which can be obtained from the cash office at the main campus or downloaded online costs GH¢50.00 and GH¢70.00 for foreign students.

An applicant must submit the following:
A
completed application for admission and a non-refundable application
fee.
An official results slip or transcript and testimonial from
the student's last school must be submitted at the time of application
directly to the Academic Office. If the student is currently
enrolled in another institution, a transcript from the previous
institution should be sent directly to the Assistant Registrar
(Academic Affairs). It is the responsibility of the student
to arrange for transcript(s) and/or transfer form to be mailed
and to ensure that they arrive promptly. Hand delivered transcript(s)
are not acceptable.
Admission to Degree Courses
Five main categories of candidates are considered for admission
to the first year Bachelor's Degree in the Central University
College.
General Certificate of Education: Passes, at least, at
credit level in 5 subjects (including English Language, Mathematics,
and Science) in the GCE Ordinary Level and 3 passes at the Advanced
Level of the GCE. Two of the advanced level passes must be grade
'D' or better. A pass in General Paper must also be obtained.
Senior Secondary School Certificate: Passes in core English,
core Mathematics, core Science and three elective subjects,
with an aggregate score of 24 or better.
Mature Student's Entry Requirement (MSER):
i. Age: At least 25 years
ii. (a) Relevant professional experience, or
(b) Authorship of some work in relevant field,
iii. The applicant must also pass the Mature Students Entrance
Examination which comprises:
(a) General Paper (including a section on English Language)
or all candidates. Examinations in Mathematics and English Language
for those who do not have G.C.E. 'O' Level credit passes.
(b) Special Paper to test standard of achievement in subjects
relevant to programme for which candidate is seeking admission.
(c) Candidates must also pass an interview.
Professional Qualification (School of Business Management
and Administration) : Candidates with 5 GCE 'O' Level Credit
passes including English and Mathematics and any of the following
qualifications may be considered for admission to the first
year:
a. Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) with at least 1 Distinction
and 3 Credits from accredited Polytechnics. b. Foundation and
Intermediate levels of professional Certificates in CIM, CIPS,
CA (Gh), etc.
c. Private Secretary.
d. RSA Stage II (5 passes) and Stage III (3 Passes).
Post Diploma Degree: Candidates with the following qualifications
may be admitted to level 200/300.
a. HND (good class).
b. Diploma in Accounting or Business Administration from a recognised
University.
c. Professional certificate (e.g. ICA Ghana) level 2, Chartered
Institute of Bankers, with at least three years post qualification
work experience.
d. Diploma in Bilingual Secretaryship.
e. Diploma of Higher Education from Central University College
(mini mum CGPA of 2.50).
Foreign Students. Foreign students may be considered
for admission if they hold qualifications equivalent to those
mentioned above. However, they must show evidence of proficiency
in English.
Admission to Diploma Courses
Four main categories of candidates are considered for admission
to the Diploma in Higher Education programme in the Central
University College.
General Certificate of Education: Passes, at least, at
credit level in 5 subjects (including English Language, Mathematics,
and a science subject) in the GCE Ordinary Level Examination
and 2 passes at the Advanced Level of the GCE are required.
Senior Secondary School Certificate: Passes in the core
English, core Mathematics, core Science and three Elective subjects,
with an aggregate score of 30 or better in the WAEC Senior Secondary
School Certificate Examination. Candidates must also pass a
University Entrance Examination (UEE) conducted by the Central
University College.
Foreign Students:
Foreign students may be considered for admission if they hold
qualifications equivalent to those mentioned above. However,
they must show evidence of proficiency in English language.
Mature Student's Entry Requirement (MSER): Mature persons
applying for admission, who do not satisfy the above requirements
must have reasonable education and working experience and should
have attained the minimum age of 25 years at the time of submitting
their applications. Successful candidates are selected on the
basis of passing the Mature Students Entrance Examination and
an interview.

campus of the University.
