OF PUBLIC RELATIONS
The office of the University Public Relations is the comprehensive
in-house public relations service for the university community.
What does the Public Relations Office do?
In short, we build bridges. Our professional staff of communicators,
works with campus clients to strategically build,
maintain and strengthen the important bridges between our
publics and the university.
What is Public Relations anyway?
A common definition of Public Relations: - the management
function that identifies, establishes and maintains mutually
beneficial relationships between an organisation and the
various publics, on whom it depends for success.
Who are our Publics?
Central University College has a wide variety of important
Publics including prospective students, parents/guardians,
alumni, donors/sponsors, affiliated bodies, the community
and the news media. Internally, the Central University Publics
include students, faculty and staff.
How Do we Do It?
Central University College has a wide variety of communication
tools to reach our various publics, including our magazine
- PATHFINDER - our newsletter - CUC NEWS; a variety of targeted
publications, including magazines, newsletters and brochures
for the university and academic support units; comprehensive
news and marketing services for all campus clients, including
news releases and other media vehicles, as well as the university
website.
