BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN PHARMACY
This programme has been developed in consultation with practitioners from all areas of pharmacy and emphasizes problem solving, critical thinking, patient-focused content and experiential opportunities across the breadth of practice. The programme will provide students with a core of knowledge in relevant basic sciences and research methods, medication, preparation, distribution and administration of drugs and integrated body systems management. It will also provide skills, abilities, attitudes and values including communication skills, critical thinking, social interaction, pharmacotherapy, decision-making, professionalism and ethics; that are necessary for the provision of Pharmaceutical care. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTSHIP
The Physician Assistant program in Central University College is an innovative four year degree designed to train healthcare professionals licensed to practice medicine. The Physician Assistant is not a physician replacement, but works as an efficient medium for physicians to extend health care services, especially in underserved areas. They are ranked above nurses and Medical assistants, but below medical doctors. In addition to working in hospitals, polyclinics and private medical centres, physician assistants are trained to function in a variety of settings such as: Private offices, Clinics, Emergency Departments, Health Maintenance Organizations, Community Health Centres, Industry, and Branches of the Armed Services. The programme of Bachelor of Science in Nursing Studies and Practice is an 8-semester programme for students aspiring for roles in nursing practice in the formal and non-formal sectors of the health care delivery system. It is also intended to prepare students to function effectively in the international arena for health care delivery. Emphasis of the programme will be on research to provide evidence-based practice.
