510 African Religion, Philosophy & Cultural Values
The
critical discussion of the definitions of African Traditional
Religions. The traditional cosmology and the concept of Salvation,
the concept of sin, destiny and morality. The spirit force
and their relationship to the world and humanity. ATR as preparatio
evangelica. The manifestations of new forms of African Traditional
Religions e.g. Africania Mission, Godianism, Akkonedi Cult
in the USA. Their origins, beliefs and organization. The course
also inquires into indigenous African understanding of self
in relation to the world, values, principles of life, ethical
guidelines and fundamental values.

520 Biblical Theology of Poverty and Wealth
The
course will examine the subject of poverty and wealth from
Old Testament and New Testament understanding of the subject.
It will also look at the various poverty relief models found
in Scripture, and how this could influence the churchs
responsibility to the poor. The attitude of the biblical writers
to the subject of poverty and wealth will be critically examined.
